Berekum Chelsea striker Eric Bekoe looks forward to scoring more after about recording his debut goal in a match day five encounter against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The one time goal king who played for Asante Kotoko put Chelsea in front after four minutes in the first half before Latif Salifu added the second to make it 2-0 for the Berekum based side at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
Bekoe who returned to the premier league this season after the cancellation of his contract with Egyptian side Petrojet is hoping to build on this to record more goals in the premier league.
“I wanted a very proper time to open my goal scoring account and as I have scored against Hearts I’m sure more will come, we were too hot for the Phobians to handle”, said Eric Bekoe in an interview with JOY Sports.
Eric Bekoe emerged as the Ghana’s Premier League top scorer with 17 goals in 2008. He secured a move to Egyptian side Petrojet FC and year later and has remained there until a few months ago when he landed a deal with the Berekum based side.
Bekoe’s initial plan was to return to Asante Kotoko but that fell through due his inability to reach a good deal with the defending league champions. Berekum Chelsea have now moved to second place with just three points shy of leaders SC Medeama.
