Several communities in the southern belt of the Volta Region have been hit by acute shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
Among the hard hit areas are Keta, Denu, Anloga and Aflao.
Reports say most drivers who converted their vehicles to consume LPG have been equally affected and those running their engines on petrol are exploiting the situation by increasing lorry fares.
Ivy Setordzi of Victory FM reported the shortage is widespread and has become a nuisance.
She said commercial drivers have had to queue for several days in dire search for the gas.
Some of the drivers who spoke to the correspondent said they have also converted to the use of petrol.
Domestic users have not been left out of the misery. One of them said she has had to switch to the use of charcoal but even that one too has become problematic because of the shortage of charcoal.
