The Annual National CSR Conference was instituted by CSR Foundation Ghana in 2011.
This was based on the appreciation that globally, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been accepted not only as an important academic concept but also as a vital partnership tool which enhances corporate credibility and most importantly promotes community development and ultimately can be maximized in fulfillment of the development aspirations of countries.
The need for Africa and Ghana in particular to utilize this partnership opportunity to attain sustainable development was most important and the objectives of the annual conference are:
1.To and institute and to sustain national dialogue on CSR in the country.
2.To encourage action from government, corporate organizations, civil society organizations, communities and society to embed CSR in their everyday behavior for sustainable development.
This year’s conference also aims at having a discussion on ways to encourage peaceful political participation as a concomitant to sustainable development.
