We all know diamonds are a girl's best friend. But so are pearls, bangles and a host of other fine jewelry staples that are mainstays.
While trends in jewelry may come and go, there are certain pieces that remain classics throughout the years. These are the pieces of jewelry that are worth their weight in gold.
Regardless of your budget, there's something for everyone. Even if you can't afford the real deal, there's no reason you can't opt for those noteworthy knock-offs that get the job done. And if you can swing authentic versions of these staples, go for good quality as they'll likely last you a lifetime.
First and foremost are diamond solitaire earrings. These studs should make a statement. Although a simple set can accompany almost any outfit, the bigger the bauble, the more glamorous the look.
Hoops (white gold, gold or silver) are another set of earrings you shouldn't go without. Avoid going too big or too small. Instead, take the middle ground. Hoops dress up a casual look and can give a feminine edge to just about any outfit.
Even if you didn't inherit your grandmother's pearls, that's no reason to abstain from this fashionable fetish. A pearl necklace is the perfect way to add a touch of class or sophistication to your look.
Don't forget the traditional diamond solitaire pendant. Use a sturdy, thin chain to put it on display. If you don't have the budget for a real diamond, opt for a cubic zirconia which is every bit as eye-catching for a whole lot less.
You'll also want to make time for a classic timepiece. Think clunky and oversized like a man's watch with a large face. Remember, you don't have to spend a fortune on jewelry to look like a million bucks.
