The owner of the collapsed six-storey building that housed the Melcom shopping centre is now the subject of a massive manhunt.
Nana Kwesi Buadu is wanted by the Bureau of National Investigations and city authorities, Joy News has learnt.
Earlier Thursday, the Co-MD of the Melcom Group of Companies, Ramesh Sadhwani and the AMA works director, Victor Mensah were invited for questioning by the BNI.
The Chief Executive of the AMA Alfred Vanderpuye had earlier on Thursday issued a public notice to the owner of the building to turn himself in.
But as at 5pm "the owner of the building has refused to report", he told Joy FM's Top Story.
President Mahama has meanwhile indicated that other commercial properties belonging to the owner of the collapsed building that has so far killed 9 people are all being closely watched by the relevant authorities.
The President says all high rise buildings in the country will also be examined.
“I have ordered an investigation into this incident…Some drastic action has to be taken to save life and property,” President Mahama stated.
Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey reporting from the scene said the state has also secured an interlocutory injunction from a District Magistrate Court to stop further occupation of other buildings in the vicinity of the collapsed shopping centre.
He said the NADMO Co-ordinator, Kofi Portuphy has indicated that the state would take the cost of hospitals of the victims and the funeral expenses of those who lost their lives.
Meanwhile, rescue mission is still underway with the assistance of an eight-man rescue team from Israel.
