Mr Emmanuel Dei-Tumi, a motivational speaker, on Monday called on people to work hard to reduce the level of poverty in the country.
He made the call at a forum organised by Maglaw Entertainment Production (MEP) for the staff of the banks and other corporate bodies at Takoradi.
Mr Dei-Tumi said some people have made poverty a choice because their attitude to work was not productive.
He said the time had come for people to make efforts to eliminate poverty in their lives by thinking with an "Entrepreneurial mind".
Mr Dei-Tumi said workers should enter into small businesses to earn extra income.
They should cultivate the saving habit to enable them appreciate the value of money and control their expenditure.
