Former Attorney General, Betty Mould Iddrissu, was within her rights to refuse to talk about the specifics of a controversial 94 million Euros judgment debt when she appeared before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). That is according to the Greater Accra President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Frank Davies. The committee on Friday invited Madam Iddirisu and, Joe Ghartey, a former AG under the Kufuor administration to assist in unravelling the mystery surrounding the payment to the firm Construction Pioneers (CP). But both told the committee they need time and the necessary documents to be able to answer questions. Mr. Davies says the position, particularly asserted by Madam Iddrissu was appropriate. He says the committee should have furnished the witnesses with all relevant documents before their appearance Friday.
