Former IBF Bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko says he wants a third bout against current holder Abner Mares Martinez.
Agbeko lost the last of his two fights against the Mexican fighter, the first under very controversial circumstances.
Agbeko attributed his loss to Mares in the second bout to poor promotions, training camps and management challenges.
He rates Mares as the best in the division thus his goal to take on the highly rated Mexican-American for the third time.
“My target is still on Abner Mares who I see as the best as the super bantamweight”. He told JOY Sports
“I think he fought best fighters to reach that stage so I still want to bring him down”.
He added that he is now being courted by top notch boxing promoters including Oscar De la Hoya’s Golden Boy promotions and Top Rank and will sign for the Company that offers him the best of terms.
“I’m going to be one of the best promoters right now, I will have the best state of mind, best training camp and best of everything. I believe that will be the best time for the world to see my best".
