Ex Black Stars player Augustine Ahinful has hailed Michael Essien’s move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
Essien’s career has taken a downward spiral the last three seasons at Chelsea because of injuries which limited his playing time.
The Ghana international was on the verge of getting rotten at Chelsea until Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho made a move for him last Friday on the transfer deadline day.
According to Augustine Arhinful who earlier on JOY Sports platforms advised Michael Essien to make a move from Chelsea before transfer deadline, the 29 year old has a chance to impress his new club on a season long loan.
“I think Mourinho really likes Essien and I believe the love he has for him will just come to bear and this gives him an opportunity to re launch his career”. He told JOY Sports
“For him to have moved on is good for himself and for the nation as a whole, if he had stayed at the Chelsea probably he wouldn’t be playing for the rest of the season”.
