Justice Ayam of the Brong Ahafo region in Ghana has won a fully paid subscription for a year for participating and winning in the ongoing Airtel Money DSTV promotion.
Airtel Money, the mobile money commerce service that allows customers to use their mobile phones like a mobile wallets to receive and transfer money, pay for bills, goods and services promptly and securely in June announced the promotion with Multichoice Ghana, operators of DSTV, as part of activities to excite its customers.
From June till the end of August, DSTV subscribers who pay their monthly subscription fee with Airtel Money stand the chance of winning one full year DSTV subscription payment for free at the end of each month.
Justice Ayam was the first to have won in the promo and he exclaimed that he was very excited to have won a free subscription for a year on hearing the news of his win.
“I watch DSTV a lot and I also use my Airtel Money to undertake a lot of transactions. I will encourage all my friends to participate in the promotion for they also stand a good chance of winning,” he said.
Commenting on the promotion, Director of Airtel Money, Roland Amoah explained that Airtel customers who pay their DSTV bill using Airtel money qualify to enter a draw which is held at the end of every month from June to August 2013.
Amoah said one lucky customer would then be chosen for each month and awarded a one full year DSTV subscription payment for free, adding that customers who top up their credit using Airtel Money also receive 100% bonus airtime from Airtel Money to call any network.
He further stated that “all first time users need to do was to find the Airtel Money menu located on their sim cards on their phones and go through the simple process to have their passwords changed and then they can immediately start using the Airtel Money service.”
Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs of Airtel Ghana, Donald Gwira added that “the collaboration with Multichoice went further than the DSTV promotion. Airtel was the Headline sponsor of Big Brother Africa season 8, the continents biggest reality show which airs on DSTV channels 197 and 198. We identify with the diverse audiences watching this remarkable programme in over 50 African countries and the unique opportunity to create awareness of some of our ground breaking services to the audience. The reality show is also a perfect match with Airtel’s goal of connecting millions of people through infotainment.”
