In a leadership transition, the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has announced Alex Mould as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of Michael Asare Bediako.
During his tenure, Mr. Bediako led MiDA through key institutional reforms and innovative projects that strengthened its role in Ghana’s economic development.
His leadership saw the authority transition from a Compact-funded entity to a subvented organization, ensuring its long-term sustainability as a critical public service institution.
He was instrumental in launching the Economic Enclaves Project (EEP) and the Digital Youth Hub, initiatives that have positioned MiDA at the forefront of Ghana’s agriculture-led industrialization and digital transformation.
Additionally, his efforts to reinforce MiDA’s partnership with the Millennium Challenge Corporation have laid the foundation for potential future Compact agreements aimed at driving growth through poverty reduction.
As he stepped down, Mr. Bediako expressed gratitude for the support he received, stating his confidence in MiDA’s continued success under its new leadership.
Taking over the reins, Alex Mould brings a wealth of experience from Ghana’s energy and financial sectors. A former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Mould’s appointment by President John Mahama underscores a commitment to sustaining MiDA’s progress.
Mr. Bediako has assured a smooth transition, having already engaged Mr. Mould in discussions to ensure the continuity of strategic initiatives. As he moves on to new opportunities in national service, he remains optimistic about MiDA’s future and its impact on Ghana’s development.
With Alex Mould at the helm, MiDA is set to continue its mission of economic transformation and sustainable development for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
