The Ghana Beach Sports Association (GBSA) in collaboration with the National Sports Council (NSC), will soon put up a maiden Beach Sports Arena at the La Pleasure Beach Resort.
The move is to facilitate the hosting of an impending Independence Beach Sports Festival by the Association.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports reveals that the construction of the Arena when complete will be used to host other sporting disciplines like volleyball, handball and soccer.
A date for the Festival is however yet to be fixed since the organizers have to complete the arena before they can fix the actual date.
It would be recalled that the event was earlier fixed for this year, but the GBSA decided to postpone it in order to make room for adequate preparations as well as the hosting of officials of the world beach soccer governing body expected from Spain.
The Association, according to the information will also organize a training workshop for participants, members and especially umpires to enable them sharpen their rough edges ahead of the event.
Puma, the official kit sponsors of the national football team, the Black Stars are expected to kit the participants while the La Pleasure Beach Resort will serve as the official hotel for the event.
Other sponsors of the impending Festival are Dragon 88, and YOKS Investment.
