Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan and former table tennis star Eric Amoah are expected to do the kick-off at this year’s Seven Great Princes Academy games slated for the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex and the Dansoman campus of the school from February 12 to 14.
The UAE-based Gyan and London based Amoah all products of the renowned school, Seven Great Princes Academy, has been chosen by the organizers of the games to spice up the three day event.
According to the organizers the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex will be the venue where the competition itself will begin.Activities such as football for boys and girls, and athletics events, comprising 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and 4x400m will be held from 12-13 February, 2014.
The final day games would be held at the Dansoman campus with indoor events such as fill-in-the bottle, spoon and lime race, sack race, tug-of-war, musical chairs, table tennis, basketball and scrabble.
According to the Director of Studies of the school, Raphael Brown, the competition is to unearth young talents for the national cause, while making students fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
He called on other schools to endeavor to hold sporting competitions to enhance the health of the students and also nurture talents for the nation as Seven Great has done with Asamoah Gyan alongside Eric Amoah
