The construction of three training pitches and a 20-bedroom camping facility for Kumasi Asante Kotoko will start at Adako Jachie at the end of the current football season on April 29.
The three training pitches and the 20 bedroom facility will come with a conference room and offices for the Operations Director and the technical bench.
Whereas one of the training pitches will go to the youth team the two others will be used by the senior side.
This was made known to the Kotoko Express after a marathon management meeting on Sunday. Chairman Sylvester Asare-Owusu who briefed the paper said the projects formed part of their development agenda for Kotoko.
He said it was time for Kotoko to have these infrastructures in place to ensure proper development.
The chairman observed that the provision of these projects if completed would improve the performance of the club.
“The performance of any football club, he said, did not depend only on the quality of players at the disposal of the club but also facilities available. If the club has proper training facilities it has a way of influencing its performance. We cannot overlook the need to provide good training pitches, a camping site, offices for the technical bench and the Operations Director.”
Asked how these projects would be funded, Sylvester Asare-Owusu said a development fund would be opened to cater for all management's plans.
He added that 10 percent of contributions to the development fund would be used to fund the projects. He intimated that the owner and Life Patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II would also provide both financial and moral support.
