Asempa FM’s flagship political talk show, ‘Ekosiisen’, secured a major accolade, winning the award for Best Radio/TV Programme in Ghanaian Languages at the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
The prestigious event, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, recognised the programme's profound impact and widespread influence in political discourse conducted primarily in the Akan language.
A Triumph for The Multimedia Group Limited
The win for 'Ekosiisen' adds significant prestige to its parent company, The Multimedia Group Limited (MGL), Ghana's foremost independent media organisation.
The victory for 'Ekosiisen' showcases MGL’s dedication to producing high-quality, impactful content across the linguistic spectrum, ensuring complex national issues are accessible to a broad audience in their native tongues.
The programme is renowned for its heated debates, incisive interviews, and ability to set the national agenda, particularly during election cycles.
This GJA award caps off a phenomenal year of recognition for the show, as 'Ekosiisen' also achieved significant distinction earlier this year and honoured at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Awards for its excellence and strong brand positioning within the media marketing industry.
This rare double recognition from both the primary professional journalistic body (GJA) and the top marketing body (CIMG) underscores the show's unparalleled quality, popularity, and commercial success.
The recognition of 'Ekosiisen' highlights the vital role that local language media plays in driving democratic accountability and engaging citizens on critical national issues.
The Multimedia Group Limited swept eight awards on the night, solidifying its status as the foremost private media organisation in Ghana.
