All is set for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency polls of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, Nov. 17,2007 to elect a Parliamentary Candidate to contest the 2008 elections.
Mr Samuel Aidoo, Constituency Chairman disclosed this on Saturday to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Breman Asikuma.
He said a total of 230 delegates from 96 polling stations in the constituency would be expected to cast their votes.
According to him, the contest would be between Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, a Tema based educationist and Anthony Robert Frimpong, a private legal practitioner.
He said the Regional Executives of the Party would conduct the election to be supervised by the Electoral Commission.
Mr Aidoo told the GNA that the executives and supporters of the party would support any of the contestants who would be elected.
He noted that the committee set up by constituency executives of the party has put in place effective structures that would enable the NDC to win more supporters, especially floating voters.
Mr Aidoo appealed to supporters of the party not to regard their colleagues of the political divide as enemies but should see them as brothers and sisters belonging to different parties.
