According to a number of reports, it is rumoured that Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.
Typically reliable French news source BeIN Sport tweeted on their official account: “Andre Villas-Boas will no longer coach Tottenham.”
The French media outlet has confirmed that according to their sources, AVB has been sacked.
Further, Fabio Capello was spotted at White Hart Lane today, and there are suggestions that he is in line to replace Villas-Boas.
Last night Tottenham were mauled by Liverpool 5-0 at White Hart Lane, not the first time this season that Villas-Boas’ side have been embarrassed by a result. Tottenham were unable to register a single shot on target during the match.
It was only a few weeks ago when Tottenham were also savaged 6-0 at the Etihad stadium, although that is a place where many, including Arsenal, will experience a similar fate.
However, Spurs have also been beaten 3-0 at home by West Ham recently, apparently another significant nail in the coffin of Villas-Boas.
Frustrations have now boiled over at Villas-Boas’ performance and decisions, with many perplexed as to why he has persisted with Paulinho while so consistently leaving out Gylfi Sigurdsson – Spurs’ best offensive performer so far this year.
It appears that AVB’s time at Tottenham may now be about to come to a close.
