Ghana winger Andre Ayew has been ruled out of action for two months following a successful operation on his shoulder on Tuesday.
Renowned specialist Dr Walsch operated on the longstanding fragile left shoulder which dislocates frequently when it comes into contact with an opponent in Lyon.
The 22-year-old will now be sidelined for the next two months to recover fully ahead of next season after his involvement in the latter stages of the French Lique 1 was curtailed.
That means he will miss the Black Stars 2014 World Cup double-decker against African Champions Zambia and Lesotho in June.
