Joy news can confirm that the flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo Addo has submitted two names for consideration as vice presidential candidates to the National Executive Council of his party.
The two, Dr. Mahamadou Bawumia Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Hajia Alima Mahama Minister of Womens and Children s affairs have emerged favorites, even though sources close to the NPP claim the former is the preferred choice for Nana Akufo Addo.
The National Executive Council which is the largest decision making body of the party will sit today to make a final decision between the two.
The choice according to sources will be made at the close of day today.
The turn of events effectively rules out Dr. Ibn Chambass, President of the Ecowas Commission and Alhaji M.N.D Jawula former director of the Ghana Health Service whose names emerged strongly for consideration.
