Skin Care
Your skin has a dramatic effect on your appearance and is one of the first things that someone will notice. Taking care of it can be as simple as applying sunscreen to your face, neck and hands daily after showers and before outdoor workouts. It takes only minutes of daily sun exposure to cause visible changes to your skin. To prevent this photoaging, refrain from long-term sun exposure, always use sunscreen and wear a covering when in the sun for prolonged periods, advises the American Academy of Dermatology. Moisturizers go a long way in keeping your skin soft and supple and often daytime moisturizers will have built-in sunblock.
Hair Care
If you are an active woman, you may not spend a lot of time on hair care, and often may have it pulled back. This can cause damage or breakage to your hair. Vary the way you put your hair up. Braids, especially loose braids, can be less damaging on hair than ponytails. Ensuring that you use a quality conditioner during regular washings will help keep hair moisturized and healthy. Shine serums and other products can be quickly applied after styling and will add sheen to your hair. Get regular trims to keep ends from becoming dry and frizzy.
Makeup
Enhance your natural beauty with a few key makeup items. Mascara and blush are two small items that can have a big impact on your everyday look. Mascara can be waterproof, which in turn is sweat-proof. Also, it is a simple step that accents one of your most expressive features -- your eyes. Cream blush or bronzer can be applied quickly with your fingers to your cheekbones and high-points, giving you a sun-kissed look without the sun damage. With these two items you can have a fresh face in seconds. If you prefer to use foundation or powder, choose oil-free and waterproof versions to keep your skin looking healthy and clean. It is best to go bare-faced when exercising, but if you must wear makeup, look for sweat-proof makeup that will stay in place during your workout. Some brands even have makeup designed specifically for use by active women who may be working out or sweating when wearing cosmetics.
