Sensational Ghanaian female Afro-pop artiste, Rebecca Acheampong, aka Becca has been nominated for the Ghana Female Musician of the Year award at the second edition of the City People Entertainment Awards.
The City People Entertainment Award is meant to reward and recognise deserving personalities that excelled in their field of endeavour in the previous year.
Having performed well in the Ghanaian music scene, the City People Entertainment Awards, at the recent selection meeting, unanimously selected Becca as a nominee from Ghana.
The event, according to the organizers, will take place on Sunday, July 18 at the Degrees Even Hall, Ikeja, Lagos in Nigerian. The event will attract about 3,000 showbiz personalities from all over Nigeria and some selected West African countries.
Becca recently won two awards at the 11th MTN Ghana Music Awards held on April 10 this year in Accra. The awards were Record of the Year and Best Female Vocal Performance.
Ghana’s Afro-pop music star also won the Best African Prospect Award at the 2010 KORA Music Awards held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on April 4. Becca’s win makes her the youngest from Ghana to have made such an achievement and the only Ghanaian woman to have won a KORA award.
