Manchester City's electrifying winger, Jérémy Doku, has secured his most important assist off the pitch, confirming his marriage to his long-time partner, Shireen Erin Lyanda Raymond.
The 23-year-old Belgian-Ghanaian star, who has been a revelation for the Citizens this season, tied the knot in a private and intimate ceremony.
The wedding, held at an undisclosed private location, was a joyous affair attended by close family and friends, celebrating the union of the football star and his now-wife.
Doku, known for his speed and unpredictable dribbling on the pitch, displayed a touch of sentimentality in announcing the personal milestone.
He shared the news across his social media platforms, expressing his deep devotion to his wife with a verse from the Bible:
"I have found the one whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4," wrote the winger.
The marriage follows a high-profile proposal earlier in the summer.
Doku got down on one knee and proposed to Shireen during a luxurious vacation in Dubai.
The couple's commitment to their roots was also evident last year when Doku travelled with Shireen to Ghana, where he has ancestral heritage, to connect with his family and culture.
The wedding comes at a time when Doku is in superb professional form.
Since his high-profile transfer from Stade Rennais in August 2024 for a reported fee of €60 million (approximately £52 million), the young forward has integrated seamlessly into Pep Guardiola's tactical setup.
The 2025/26 season has seen Doku elevate his game significantly:
- Age and Position: The 23-year-old winger has established himself as a key starter, often operating on the left flank to utilize his exceptional one-on-one ability.
- Performance Data: This season, Doku has already racked up two goals and multiple assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for the treble winners, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Despite the recent personal celebrations, Doku is expected to switch focus immediately back to football.
He is anticipated to start for City in their massive title showdown against rivals and reigning champions Liverpool this coming Sunday, a fixture that could significantly impact the top of the Premier League table.
The club and fans worldwide have extended their congratulations to the newlyweds as Doku prepares for both marriage life and one of the biggest fixtures of the season
