Best Assurance Company Limited, an indigenous non-life insurance company, has announced the constitution of a new Board of Directors to provide strategic leadership and steer the affairs of the company into its next phase of growth and transformation.
The Board is chaired by Dr. Anthony Aubynn, Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), whose appointment brings to Best Assurance decades of distinguished leadership experience in corporate governance, public policy, energy, extractives, and institutional development. Dr. Aubynn is widely regarded as a seasoned executive with a proven track record in leading complex organizations, driving institutional reform, and providing strategic oversight at the highest levels of management.
Dr. Aubynn’s extensive experience in risk management, stakeholder engagement and policy-driven institutions is expected to significantly strengthen Best Assurance’s governance framework and strategic direction. His leadership style, anchored in accountability, innovation, and results-driven management, aligns strongly with the company’s vision of building a resilient and customer-focused insurance brand.
Following a change in shareholding, the new shareholders of Best Assurance constituted the Board and also appointed Mr. Robert Wugah as Managing Director, effective November 3, 2025. Mr. Wugah brings solid managerial and industry experience and will be responsible for executing the company’s strategic objectives under the guidance of the Board.
Other members of the Board include Ms. Naomi Alabi, Mr. James Kwasi Ahiable, Mr. Kwabena Ofori Apeagyei, Prof. Chike Frankie Edozien and Mr. Kojo Dougan, all serving as Non-Executive Directors and contributing diverse expertise in business, finance, and academia.
In a statement issued by the company, Best Assurance noted that the new Board marks the beginning of a renewed drive to position the company as a leading provider of insurance products and services in Ghana. “With these appointments, Best Assurance has entered a new phase and is being repositioned as a brand of choice in the insurance industry,” the statement said.
The company added that it is well placed to deliver cutting-edge insurance solutions supported by effective and responsive customer service. Best Assurance boasts an experienced and skilled management team and staff, who are well positioned to achieve the company’s growth objectives with strategic guidance from a Board made up of distinguished business executives.
The Executive Management Team comprises Mr. Robert Wugah as Managing Director, Mr. Kofi Lartey as Deputy Managing Director in charge of Operations, and Ms. Margaret Mutumira as Deputy Managing Director responsible for Finance and Administration.

Best Assurance Company Limited is licensed by the National Insurance Commission to operate non-life insurance businesses in Ghana.
