Black Meteors have received a heroes welcome on returning home following their qualification to U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Thousands of supporters gathered at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday to welcome the team.
The team won 1-0 against Algeria in Setif to book their place at the tournament with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side were not backed by many to qualify following a disappointing 1-1 first leg result in Accra.
But they put up an improved performance in Algeria and deservedly won courtesy a late strike by skipper Yaw Yeboah to go through.
The Black Meteors have joined seven other countries to compete at the Africa U23 Nations Cup in Egypt in November.
The top three teams at AFCON will represent Africa at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
Ghana U-23 team last played at the Olympic Games in 2004.
