Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his optimism that midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng could start against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The Ghanaian midfielder sprained his knee in the Rossoneri's 1-0 victory over Juventus in Serie A on Saturday evening and was in doubt for their second-leg encounter in the last-16 clash at White Hart Lane tomorrow.
However, Boateng was included in the Milan squad earlier on Tuesday and coach Allegri has now revealed that he could even be drafted into the starting line-up against Spurs tomorrow.
“I liked his will to make it," Allegri is quoted as saying by Milan's official website. "Boateng trained with the rest of the squad in the morning and did well enough.
"He’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow morning, but there’s a good chance that he’ll be in the starting line-up. I’ll still have to do decide whether to play him in the three-man midfield or right behind the strikers."
Milan trail 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg played at San Siro last month.
