A lawyer for Ugandan presidential candidate Bobi Wine says dozens of his campaign staff are being held in a military barracks even though a court ordered their release on Monday.
They were arrested nine days ago ahead of a planned rally which the police said was illegal due to coronavirus restrictions on public gatherings.
Bobi Wine is seen as the main challenger to the long-standing President, Yoweri Museveni, in next week's election.
The popular musician has been arrested numerous times in recent months.
This week he sent his wife and four children to the US citing concerns for their safety during the election period.
