The Brong Ahafo Region has been identified as the most conflict-prone region in Ghana.

This came to light after the National Peace Council launched an online version of a detailed research document mapping out conflict zones in the country.

This is aimed at helping stakeholders pick early signs of possible conflicts to enable authorities take preventive measures in addressing them.

Nhyira FM’s Kofi Asante was at the launch and reported the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Emmanuel Asante, as saying that perceptions that the Northern Region is most conflict-prone are wrong.

Numerous chieftaincy conflicts and land disputes account for the unenviable status attained by the Brong Ahafo Region, Rev. Asante said.
