President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Issa Hayatou has been nominated for the National Awards for the Order of the Volta - Member (Sports) by Ghana's President John Agyekum Kufuor.The 62 year-old Cameroonian, who has headed the continent's soccer controlling body for the past 20-years, is one of the few expatriates among the over 240 recipients.Alhaji Hayatou is being rewarded for his outstanding contribution to the development of football on the continent and the world as a whole.Also to receive the Order of Volta - Member, are Alhaji Nurudeen Jawula, former president of Ghana Football Association (Sports) and Dr Kofi Amoah, Chairman of LOC Ghana 2008 (sports).The three men would join seven other football persons nominated for the awards.A number of personalities would be honoured during this year’s National Awards Day, to be held on July 3, 2008.
