Egypt manager Bob Bradley has surprisingly omitted Hull City wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady from the squad facing Ghana in the World Cup qualifying playoff, the FA announced.
Bradley named seven foreign-based players for the November 19 clash, excluding Elmohamady – the only regular Egyptian in Europe’s top five leagues.
The 26-year-old, who usually plays second fiddle to Ahmed Fathi in Egypt’s right-back, came on as a first-half sub in the 6-1 first-leg drubbing in Kumasi.
Despite being far from match fit, Hull outcast Geddo retained his place in Bradley’s roster.
Switzerland-based trio Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny and Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ were expectedly named, along with Lierse schemer Hossam Ghaly.
Striker Amr Zaki, who plays from Kuwait’s Al-Salmiya, completed the seven-man list.
