Ghana's Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, is optimistic his players have the requisite quality to face Nigeria in a fight for a spot at the 2024 African Nations Championships.
Ghana and Nigeria go head-to-head in two games to determine who picks up a slot to be at the competition to be staged in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Didi Dramani, in an interview with SuperSport Blitz, didn't hold back in lauding the quality of his opposition. However, the former Black Stars assistant coach believes his players are equally better.
"In football when you want to get to the top you should be ready to meet the top liners. For me, it was not surprising that we were meeting Nigeria," he said.
"Whether you want it or not, you still will play against someone and you should expect to play against a quality opponent. There is no doubt that Nigeria is a quality opponent and Ghana is equally a quality opponent."
Didi Dramani believes the qualifiers and the tournament, in the long run, are avenues to sell the quality of talent on the domestic scene.
"The future of this team is to just show domestically what we are made of and to sell out to these young players that they have the capabilities and qualities to also be in the senior national team," he continued.
"The idea is to sell to them the true culture of what we are doing, the philosophy and the style of play."
Ghana's last appearance at the CHAN tournament saw them exit in the quarterfinal stage.
The Black Galaxies meetings with Nigeria are scheduled for December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium and December 22 in Lagos.
