An emotional Faila could not hold back her tears in disbelief at what she had just accomplished amid a warm embrace from her assistant, Malik Eric.

She intended to beat the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher but ended up doing a rather astounding 227 hours:00mins:02 seconds.

Days before her showdown, Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe, popularly known as Mama D, cooked for 144 hours and is awaiting Guinness World Records' validation.

Meanwhile, the Guinness World Record has acknowledged Faila's marathon adding that “we look forward to reviewing her evidence.”
