Traditional leaders from Chiana in the Upper West Region on Wednesday formally informed former President Jerry Rawlings of the final funeral arrangements for the Chiana Pio, Pe Roland Ayagitam who died in April, 2006.The delegation announced that the four-day final funeral rites would commence on May 29.The delegation also used the opportunity to sympathise with the former first family over the destruction of their residence by fire.Former President Rawlings who received the delegation with Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings thanked the delegation for sympathising with his family and informing him of the funeral rites of the late Chiana Pio.He reiterated that a lot of work needed to be done on the political front in order to improve on the quality of living of the people and called for all to focus on that bigger agenda.Source: Former President Rawlings’ blog site.
