Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Chief Executive Officer of Wa All Stars Football Club has said that he was looking forward for both local and international sponsorship to help sustain the operations of the Club.
Wa All Stars qualified to play in the Premier League next season when they beat Bolgatanga Catholic Stars 3-0 at the just ended Middle League to top their group.
Mr Nyantakyi said at the weekend that he paid 10 million cedis a month as salaries for the players and 500,000 cedis each as their winning bonuses during the Middle League matches.
He regretted about the absence of job opportunities especially for footballers in the Region and therefore promised to do every possible to secure sponsorship for the Club to help enhance and encourage the performance of the players.Mr. Nyantakyi noted that lack of job opportunities has been an obstacle to the successful management of Clubs in the three Northern Regions and therefore appealed to all well-meaning football lovers to pool resources to help the Club in its operations to ensure they have permanent place in the premiership."It is only through such a commitment that we would be able to sustain the Club in the premiership and unearth talents from the Region for the Club and the national teams", he added.Source: GNA
