Chris Eubanks has missed out on reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon but still received an incredible reception from the crowd.
The American has won the hearts of fans during this summer's tournament as he reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.
With Eubanks going two sets to one up, a potential first ever Wimbledon semi-final for the star was in reach.
His opponent, Daniil Medvedev, also received a court violation warning earlier in the game after a ball he hit struck a camera operator on No.1 Court in the third set.
But despite Medvedev's antics, Eubanks then missed out on the perfect opportunity to secure his place in the final four.
Eubanks had the chance to seal the game in the fourth set, but lost to Medvedev in the tie break as the Russian - not competing under his country's flag for the tournament - won 6-4 1-6 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.
With Medvedev in the driving seat in the final set with a 4-0 lead, Eubanks kept him on his toes to bring it back to 4-1.
The American had tired by the end of the set, though, as Medvedev continued to serve accurately.
AMedvedev then wrapped it up 6-1 after just shy of three hours to advance to the semi-finals for the first time.
But despite being defeated, Eubanks received a standing ovation from the crowd.
