The Assembly member for Alata-Akobirem Electoral area in Apam, Miss Grace Okoe-Santana, has appealed to religious bodies to appoint marriage counsellors to resolve misunderstandings in the marriages of members.
Miss Okoe-Santana said many marriages ended on the rock because couples could not settle petty misunderstandings.
She was speaking at a graduation ceremony organised by Apam Tailors and Dressmakers Association for some apprentices who had completed their training.
She appealed to the grandaunts to form groups to enable them to access credit facilities to develop their trade and appealed to financial institutions to grant them loans.
The Assembly member advised the people to invest in the education of their children and should not regard the capitation grant as having come to remove the burden of financing their children's education.
''The grant is to complement your efforts and not to take away completely your responsibilities,'' she said.
Miss Okoe-Santana appealed to Ghana Water Company to solve the problem that had resulted in water not flowing in her electoral area for some years now.
She said the problem was affecting schooling and economic activities.
