Civil and Local Government Staff will on Thursday start a series of coordinated nationwide demonstrations to register their reservations about the Single Spine pay policy.
The group is kicking against the new pay policy because it says it does not anticipate any improvement in salaries for its members when the structure is implemented this July.
A leading member of the Civil and Local Government Staff, James Ekow Ammissah told Joy Business they are unhappy with the new salary structure which will be implemented in July because it is fraught with so many distortions.
In line with that the leadership has directed that all civil servants wear red armbands to work from Thursday and also hoist red flags.
The National Executive Committee of CLOGSAG took the decision at an emergency meeting Wednesday.
The Association is also complaining of not being given a fair hearing by the National Labour Commission and has thus withdrawn a petition it sent to the commission on the matter.
Mr Amissah said they prefer the Ghana Universal Salary Structure to the SPSS.
He also chided the Fair Wages Commission for what he says is their reluctance to dialogue for their salaries to be reviewed.
This he insists is a violation of the Labour Act.
