Former regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Yaw Agyeman has said complacency on the part of National Executives of the ruling party is greatly affecting its cohesion.
He elaborates that denial is the cause all problems especially factionalism which have the tendency of sweeping away the party’s chances in election 2012.
Lawyer Agyeman said he cautioned the executives to initiate a process to ensure that differences within the party hierarchy were solved before the National Delegates Congress was held in 2011.
He said, if his advice was heeded to and proper action taken, he believes that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings would not have even contested the presidential primary since her concerns as well as that of former President Jerry Rawlings and all other aggrieved, leading members would have been resolved.
Speaking on Adom Dwaso Nsem in reaction to a letter written by National Chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei to President John Atta Mills but leaked to the media, the former regional NDC chairman wondered why the National Chairman who, hitherto can go to the Office of the President will now resort to writing letters to express his concerns.
In a related development, the national organizer of the ruling party, Yaw Boateng Gyan, says Council of Elders of the NDC are responsible for reconciliation process and that the Council is in firm control and resolving all issues after the party.
When Adakabre Frimpong Manso pointed out to him that Woyome’s judgment debt saga may have prompted the National Chairman to write to the President since he sees the beleaguered businessman as a great financier to NDC, Mr. Boateng Gyan said that cannot be true.
He also faulted Dr. Kwabena Adjei for writing a letter to the President instead of speaking to him in person.
Mr. Boateng Gyan reacting to assertions that a Toyota Lexus vehicle he is currently using may have been bought for him by Alfred Woyome, explained that the vehicle is an official one procured from a genuine source, stressing that, “I will not dip my hands in boiling water or involve myself in any corrupt practices”.
