Cristiano Ronaldo has become the record goalscorer in men's international football after bagging his 110th and 111th goals for Portugal in 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over the Republic of Ireland.
Ronaldo scored two late headers after seeing his penalty saved by Gavin Bazunu. The Portugues has now usurped Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals for Iran between 1993 and 2006.
The 36 year old has also equalled Sergio Ramos' European record for men's caps - with his 180th Portugal appearance.
Ronaldo has scored in nine major tournaments including World Cups and European Championships as well as the Confederations Cup and Nations League.
He won the Golden Boot at Euro 2020 with five goals, beating five-goal Czech Patrik Schick on assists.
He is however unlikely to beat the world record, including women's football, of Canada striker Christine Sinclair. She has scored 187 goals in 304 caps and has not yet retired.
