The Northern Regional Security Council has extended the curfew it imposed on Kpatinga, a community in the region for one more week.
The community has already been under a two week curfew following a chieftaincy brawl after the arrest of their chief, Naatogmah Ziblim.
He was enskined as a rival chief of Kpatinga by the Abudu Royal family while the Regent of Dagbon had enskined a chief for the same community.
Authorities had given indication they are likely to lift the curfew because calm had returned to the locality.
But Regional Minister, Moses Mabengba, said there was the need to prolong the curfew a little bit to consolidated peace in the area.
He said the curfew will be lifted once the security council was convinced there would be no further disturbances.
