As the countdown to 2013 Glo – Caf Awards begins, top artistes from different parts of the world have been lined up to light up  the Awards night holding in Lagos, Nigeria, on 9th January, 2014.

Prominent on the list is the masked artiste from Nigeria, Lagbaja who is expected to keep the night alive with his Afro-Calypso genre of music, a product of various influences ranging from traditional yoruba music to Jazz.  The masked one is expected to enliven the hall with his scintillating dance steps and rhythmic saxophone. 

P-Square, the identical twin brothers will also entertain the crowd at the event. P-square ´s music is Afro centric; it combines western and African rhythms in creating a marvelous blend of R&B, Hip Hop and Dancehall songs. Their songs cut across various age genders and geographical boundaries, making them one of the most popular and sought after artistes in Africa. Since the release of the Get Squared and Game Over album, they have performed in several major concerts all around the world.

Also billed to perform at the event is singing sensation and Glo Ambassador in Benin Republic, Zeynab who, as usual will thrill the audience with her unique style.

South African singer, Lira who set the benchmark with her 2006 album, Feel Good - and with her late 2008 release, Soul in Mind will also thrill the audience. In the last two years, Lira has grown in stature most especially as a songwriter and intuitive performer, turning the young girl who showed the first glimpses of her gift more than five years ago into a woman with a world class talent.

Also billed to perform is D’ banj, the Nigerian singer, songwriter, harmonica master and a charismatic stage performer with boundless energy. D’Banj is moving from height to greater height everyday and has been glorified as the poster boy of Nigerian Music. The beginning of his achievement recognition came when he won Most Promising Male Artiste at the KORA AWARDS, 2005. The Koko Master is an infectious performer that can hold his audience captive for as long as he wants. He will surely add colour to the night.

Others are Sherifa who has been described by many as a crowd shaker, puller and a real performer when it comes to traditional zest. Sherifa Gunu will always leave an impression in the minds of anyone who comes into contact with her. Born into a royal family of Dagbon, in the Northern part of Ghana, Sherifa started her dancing and music career at a very tender age and she likes to refer to her music as Africana music.

Flavour, the prolific Nigerian recording artist, dancer, songwriter, and performer will also add colour to the night. Flavour popularly called N'abania, began his music career playing drums for a local church in his hometown, Enugu State Nigeria. He is known across Africa and the rest of the world for his massive club banger, "Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)".

Mareike  was born and raised in Bremen, Germany. Whilst still in high school, she was invited to join the Berlin State Ballet School and School of Circus Arts, from which she graduated as a trapeze artist in 2007. That same year she starred in the smash-hit Edinbugh Festival Fringe outdoor acrobatic show, a Midsummer nights Tree, held in one of Edinburgh’s exclusive private gardens, receiving much acclaim for her stunning trapeze closing number. Since then she has toured the world with a number of variety shows.

The Pole Rangers: (Eike von Stuckenbrok and Remi Martin) will also entertain the audience. After initial experience in skating, Eike von Stuckenbrok attended the 14th Age of the state circus school and now has his own unusual style. Remi Martin on the other hand is a German performer from Berlin. He has conquered the world of acrobatic spectacles in a blitz since he started working professionally last year. His acrobatics combine amazing strength and graceful, seemingly effortless motion with a breathtaking music..

The audience will also enjoy the presence of Tenors – the singing waiters from South Africa who are revered for their spontaneity and sophistication. The Three Waiters involves three talented singers posing as “real” waiters at events, hoaxing and amusing your guests before revealing themselves as singing waiters in a thrilling operatic performance.  

Ugandan comedian Patrick ‘Salvado’ Idringi: He is gradually becoming a house hold name across Africa. The telecommunications engineer has performed in many countries across the continent. His passion for stand up comedy saw him resign from his job as a switch engineer in the biggest Telecom Network in Uganda. He will keep the audience busy throughout the night.
