Agona East District Chief Executive, Martin Luther Obeng has denied allegations that Interior Minister, Kwesi Ahwoi is hoarding relief items meant for over 900 victims of rainstorm there.Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr alleged that the Interior Minister, Kwesi Ahwoi was hoarding relief items meant to be distributed to victims of the rainstorm that hit the district two weeks ago.She alleged Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi told her he would distribute the items when he was ready. But in a rebuttal, the DCE for the area said the allegations by Queenstar Sawyerr who is also the Member of Parliament for the area are baseless.According to him, he took stock of the roofing sheets, blankets and plates that Kwesi Ahwoi presented to the victims.“The allegation by the MP is not true. The things are still there; I must state in clear terms that the things have not been hoarded by anybody” he added.Mr. Luther Obeng explained the delay in the distribution of the items is because the NADMO coordinators in the area were waiting for more of the relief items to ensure equity in the distribution.
