The District Chief Executive for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Alhaji Isaac Dramani Mumuni has assured residents and Assembly Members of massive development in all sectors of the economy of the district next year.
He said no electoral area will be left out in this development agenda.
He gave the assurance at the third ordinary meeting of the assembly held at the district capital Sawla.
Alhaji Dramani, said the last three years have seen the Assembly chalk tremendous success in the execution of its projects which is in line with the philosophy of the NDC.
He pointed to the ongoing establishment of the small town water system to cater for the water needs of the Sawla Township.
The DCE posited that when the project is completed, it will increase the volume of portable water for consumption in the Sawla Township.
He said in order to make teaching and learning more effective, the assembly has continuously provided necessary infrastructure to the benefit of the education sector in the district.
The assembly has purchased ten motor bikes to be given to circuit supervisors to ensure that they are able to go about their supervision in an efficient manner.
He re-echoed earlier promise to use part of the limited resources of the Assembly to support teacher trainees and to attract teachers into the district.
Turning to the Sawla-Fufulso Road Project, Alhaji Dramaani stated that the construction of the road also necessitated the construction of an ultra-modern market for Sawla.
The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Simon Belembe called for collaboration between Assembly persons and traditional rulers, stating that the role of the traditional leaders cannot be down played as traditional authorities form the main actors in the development of various communities.
He added traditional authorities have different assessment on the social, economic and financial issues from district assemblies
He therefore, called for a more collaborative effort of all traditional authorities to individually and collectively promote peace and harmony in various communities to ensure rapid and expansive development is achieved.
