Professor Seth N. Buatsi, Dean of Business School of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has added his voice to the call for entrepreneurship to be made a compulsory course in all tertiary institutions. He said such a move would equip all graduates with skills to be self-employed instead of chasing none-existent jobs. Professor Buatsi was speaking at the launch of Art Week celebration organised by the College of Art and Social Sciences of KNUST at the weekend in Kumasi under the theme "The Artist Entrepreneur in the New World". He said there was the need for developing the Artist entrepreneur by examining innovative multidisciplinary programmes to help improve the entrepreneurial competence of students. Professor Buatsi said that would facilitate the process of successful and sustainable self-employment, citing instances in Nigeria where artists have formed synergy that could bring about artistic development and turn them into entrepreneurs. Professor Dr. Dr. Daniel Bour, Provost of the College of Art and Social Sciences, urged economists, planners, social scientists and others to bring their experiences to bear on and enhance the quality of lives of people. He appealed to social scientists to research into finding lasting solution into societal problems such as planning towards improvement and affective school systems. Professor Obour said given the pervasiveness and overriding dimensions of social sciences and arts in dealing with human issues, "an assemblage of social sciences' brain is the surest way of confronting aggressively the problem man faces today".
