The outgoing Member of Parliament for Kpando, Della Sowah has indicated her commitment to building the human capacity of the constituents to promote economic growth.
She said her team is focused on providing young ones with skills and incentives to enable them to engage in economic ventures to enhance their livelihoods.
She was speaking to the media at an awards ceremony for finalists of a Kpando Sewing Contest she organised for constituents of Kpando Constituency.
There is a high rate of unemployment in the Kpando Constituency as a result of a high population of unskilled youth.

Realising the challenge, the Member of Parliament, Della Sowah, and her team introduced a series of programmes to whip up the interest of the youth in skills development.
One such was the Kpando Sewing Contest for amateur fashion designers across the constituency.
Thirty amateur fashion designers participated in the competition which saw the eventual winner awarded with a knitting machine and a modern electric industrial machine.
Madam Sowah explained that 18 sewing machines of various kinds were distributed to befitting contestants to aid them in their fashion and design venture.
“The No. 1 person will get a knitting machine, and a modern electric industrial machine, which can do many things. The second person too will get a similar package and then we have electric, motorised, and hand [sewing] machines. In all, we are giving away 18 sewing machines today and hampers to everybody who will partake in the contest”, she said.
She added that her office has developed other exciting programmes which would be rolled out to enhance human capacity building and promote showbiz in the Kpando Constituency.
The programmes included “Kpando's Most Strongest”, “Fathers' Cooking Competition”, and “Choral Competition” among others.
“Very soon we are going to do Kpando's Most Strongest, where we will put a motorbike down, and whoever can lift it with one hand, takes it away. So there are things that we are planning to keep the constituency alive and excited in this 2024”, she said.

The winner and the first runner-ups of the Fashion and Design Completion described the competition as an eye-opener and urged their colleagues to engage in skill training to enhance their livelihoods.
“In my life, I thought I couldn't make it in life, but now I have that vim, that moral that in everything I only need to take a step and start working at a dream”, said the ultimate winner, Atubra Rebecca.
“Those of our colleagues who are just at home giving birth should try and learn a trade or skill so they can earn some money to take care of their children and make life better for them”, said the First Runner-Up, Eyram Ofori.
