In a remarkable display of compassion, the District Grand Lodge of Ghana (English Constitution), has successfully rehabilitated an imminently collapsing culvert, along with its approaches and retaining walls, in the flood-affected community of Anyako in the Volta Region.
Launching an appeal that garnered GH₵96,900.00, the District formed an Ad hoc Committee led by VW. Bro Kwaku Owusu, which meticulously assessed needs for long-lasting impact. The Committee, including dedicated individuals such as W.Bro Jose Nicco-Annan and W. Bro Prof Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, identified Anyako as a community facing an alarming flood situation.

A representative team, supported by the Committee's funds, visited Anyako for on-the-ground assessments, engaging in discussions with community representatives and inspecting the aftermath of the flooding.

Recognising the urgent need to rehabilitate the collapsing culvert, the District committed GH₵57,000.00 to the project, ensuring collaboration with the community for labour and technical support from the Keta District Assembly.

At the symbolic handover on Tuesday, the District Grand Master, Isaac Owulaku Hood expressed the District’s commitment to Masonic duty and relief efforts.
He emphasised the importance of addressing the community's specific needs and thanked the Chiefs and people of Anyako for their recognition during the ceremony.

Accompanied by District Grand Secretary Ebenezer Amos Sackey and others, the District Grandmaster celebrated the successful application of funds, turning tragedy into a beacon of hope for the entire community.
Torgbui Attipoe V, speaking on behalf of the chiefs and people of Anyako, expressed gratitude for the unexpected support, promising to remember the Grand Lodge whenever they traverse the roads.

On his part, the Assemblyman for Anyako Konu Electoral area, Wisdom Siade, echoed appreciation and appealed for more assistance to address challenges faced by the Seva road, inviting other benevolent organizations and well-meaning Ghanaians to join hands in solving these urgent issues.
The story stands as a testament to the positive impact achievable through collective efforts and the unwavering dedication of freemasons to serving those in need.
