A board member of Hearts of Oak has rubbished claims of the team being in crisis but rather attributed the woeful showing of the team down to the poor quality of players.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Sports Track, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe was adamant the 20-time league champions needed an overhaul to ensure the club returns to its glory days.
The former GFA chairman, whose early days as an administrator for the Phobians oversaw an entire clearout of the then playing body, hinted that similar measures be taken now.
“With the present situation facing us at the moment, one will have to look carefully at the boys,” Nyaho said on Monday.
“Honestly, I don’t believe that we have the best of boys because you can see to them, they are doing their best but the results are so poor.”
“That tells you definitely the materials we have is no good material so maybe what we have to do is to make sure we sail through this season and then look carefully who joins the club next season.”
Hearts lie 13th on the table with 26 points, one point clear of the relegation zone.
