Asunafo South District Chief Executive Fleance Danso has cautioned Ghanaians not to politicize the cocoa spraying exercise since cocoa is the mainstay of the national economy.
He said it was necessary for the cocoa spraying gangs to store the insecticides in the custody of traditional leaders and chief farmers to prevent them from being diverted for other purposes or sold out.
Mr Danso made the call during a familiarization tour of Sankore, Asarekrom, Camp Number One, and Aboum, some cocoa growing areas in the district.
He warned that the assembly would not deal leniently with members of the spraying gangs who would divert the insecticides for other purposes.
Mr Danso advised the people to pay their taxes promptly to enable the assembly generate enough revenue needed for development.
He assured that the assembly would not discriminate in the distribution of projects, particularly on political lines, urging parents to send their children of school-going age, especially girls to school.
