Eleven coaches have already expressed interest in the vacant Kotoko coaching position after Coach Ebo Mends resigned a day after losing 1:0 to bitter rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Mends, a former player of the team, has been in charge of the Porcupine Warriors since the start of the season with inconsistent results.
Meanwhile another ex-player Opoku Nti is to take charge of the team until a permanent replacement is appointed.
But a member of the Board of Directors of the club Alhaji Abulai Lamin told Joy Sports the departed coach was not competent to handle the team and that the club will announce a substantive coach after three games.
“Teams like Kotoko and Hearts need a coach that can stand the heat [from fans], they need experienced coaches, not young up-and-coming coach,” he said.
Alhaji Lamin said Ebo Mends’ tactics were simply awful.
