Ms Emelia Arthur, rejected previously by the Shama District Assembly, has finally been confirmed District Chief Executive after her renomination.
This follows a unanimous vote by the seventeen member assembly on Thursday.
Ms Arthur in her acceptance speech thanked the assembly members for their support, and hoped for a fruitful relationship.
Even though her confirmation was without drama, legal experts have raised questions over the propriety in her re-nomination by the President.
Emelia Arthur was rejected by the assembly after she failed to garner fifty per cent of the votes in an earlier election attended by accusations of bribe allegedly demanded by the Assembly members.
She was subsequently re-nominated by the president, John Evans Atta Mills after the Assembly members sent a petition apologising for their failure to approve the nominee.
But experts have described the re-nomination as unconstitutional.
John Ndebugri, a lawyer and ex-Zebila MP in an interview with Joy News quoted Standing Order 16(10) of the Local Government Administration which stipulates that the president must withdraw a nominee who fails to garner fifty per cent of the votes and present a new one for consideration.
Mr. Ndebugri has hinted he may pursue the case at the courts if Emelia Arthur is approved.
