The emergency call center set up to offer assistance to stranded Ghanaians in Libya has been inundated with calls.
The center at the International Conference Center was established on Friday after government concluded an evacuation plan to assist over 10,000 Ghanaians to return home from Libya.
Joy News’ George Wiafe visited the call center and reports that even natives of other countries in the troubled country have been calling the centre for assistance.
Officials managing the centre say some of the callers take their frustrations out on them, usually hurling insults and invectives.
55 Ghanaians have so far been evacuated from Libya. There are an estimated 10,000 Ghanaian nationals residents in that country and government is hoping to evacuate as many as possible in the coming days.
